>I’m Susan Cowart, Owner of Cafe’ Marigold. My wonderful, supportive husband, agreed to the two of us jumping out into the restaurant world, and here we are! We owned our own Construction business since 2000, built lots of houses before the housing market crash, and thankfully, decided to begin building menus in 2007. We have two beautiful daughters, Morgan who is 14 and Anna Grace, she’s 7.
It definitely has been an extremely difficult direction for our lives over the last 3 years. Everything you ever heard about the restaurant business – is probably true, except for the part about getting rich! Long, hard hours are just the beginning of it all. There is more blood, sweat and tears involved than any of you would care to hear about, so I will spare you the details. Many of our customers have heard the stories already. I have made so many new friends since opening, and enjoy sharing my life with you guys.
I thoroughly enjoy cooking, and sharing what I have created with others – and watching them enjoy it! If I didn’t, I would never have begun this journey. One day I would love to have Guy Fieri, from Food Network come out and feature us on his show…one of my dreams….I love that SHOW!! Heck, I’m addicted to Food Network, period!
Without the support of my husband, I would never have considered this “adventure”. I want to thank him from the bottom of my heart for being my soul mate, my best friend. He’s the best! I love you Bubba!
